Prairie Alien Upcycle
While the pastoral, oil&gas Alberta landscape has a place in the heart of some, it's become a cliché to others -- and one that harkens to a conservative patriotism of yore. Upcycling these paintings was a way to bring some life back into the old paint and make them unique again.
By request, alien invasion elements were added to each painting, making sure to keep the painting style of the original artist (Ollie Van Wart) intact by matching the umber, ochres, and greys typical to landscapes of the 1970-75 period.
